Elton Guest House in Grange-over-Sands, Cumbria, has been brought to market with a freehold asking price of £675,000.

The boutique guest house sits on the edge of the Lake District National Park and overlooks Morecambe Bay.

Originally built as two Victorian terraced properties dating back to 1840, the interlinked house has been fully refurbished by the current owner, Jean Postlethwaite.

It now offers six en suite guest bedrooms, a large sitting room, breakfast room, games room and kitchen.

The property also features an owner’s accommodation, which includes a sitting room, office, three double bedrooms and a bathroom.

Additionally, the guest house  lies close to Cartmel, home to the Michelin three-star restaurant L’Enclume, and remains a popular destination for visitors and retirees alike.

Postlethwaite, who plans to retire, said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Elton Guest House. Following the refurbishment, I was delighted by all the positive feedback from our guests, many of whom return regularly. Unfortunately, I now need to retire, and I hope the new owners continue to build the business and enjoy it as much as I have.”

Graham Wilkinson, business agent for hotels at Christie and Co, added: “Elton Guest House is a great lifestyle opportunity for a new owner looking to acquire an easy-to-manage guest house just minutes from Grange-over-Sands’ promenade. The current owners have ensured the property is beautifully presented to offer high-quality accommodation.”
