Firmdale Hotels has appointed Charlotte Crampton Smith as general manager of Number Sixteen Hotel in South Kensington.

Crampton Smith first joined the group in 2011 as an intern at the Crosby Street Hotel in New York before progressing through a series of front-of-house and management roles across seven Firmdale properties.

Her experience includes positions as receptionist, front of house manager and operations manager, followed by her recent post as deputy general manager at the Haymarket Hotel.

Crampton Smith’s appointment marks the next stage in her career with the group and in her new leadership role, she will support the continued development of its townhouse hotel in London.

The Number Sixteen Hotel has 41 individually designed bedrooms, and each room has  complimentary Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and mini-bars.

The hotel features The Orangery, a restaurant set in a light-filled conservatory space adjacent to the landscaped garden, serving lunch, dinner and afternoon tea.

Additional spaces include a Drawing Room, Library and the private garden

Firmdale said: “Charlotte Crampton Smith is known for her warm style of leadership and focus on creating thoughtful guest experiences.”.
