Two hotels on Blackpool’s Queens Promenade have completed refurbishment projects totalling more than £1m.
The investment by owners Nigel Seddon and Liz Brown included structural changes to the Elgin and a redesign of premium rooms at the Sheraton.
The work at the Elgin involved a renovation of the bar, sun lounge, and reception. A central stage was installed to improve sightlines for guests, and the layout was adjusted to increase seating capacity.
At the Sheraton, five bedrooms were stripped to the brickwork for full modernisations. The project included new plumbing, wiring, and bespoke furniture, alongside the installation of marble-style bathrooms and updated decor.
The Seddon family has operated the Elgin for nearly 60 years, acquiring the Sheraton in 2015. The recent upgrades follow the Sheraton’s second-place finish in the Best Large Hotel category at the Lancashire Tourism Awards.
Seddon, owner of the Elgin, said: “The transformation here at the Elgin has been nothing short of spectacular. We take great pride in reinvesting in the hotel each year.
“Together with Sacha Dunnett, our interior designer, they have worked incredibly hard to redesign these spaces to exude luxury, whilst maintaining comfort and functionality for our guests.”
Brown, owner of the Sheraton, added: “It’s important to us that guests feel right at home when they stay with us, so it’s imperative that they remain at the heart of every decision that’s made.
“We stripped the bedrooms right back to their brickwork and changed absolutely every item within it, from the wiring and plumbing to the final decorative cushions and artefacts.”
