The Britannia Hotels Group has launched a collection of dedicated entertainment break hotels that offer guests daytime activities, social games and live performances across both day and night.
The entertainment programme is being rolled out in five seaside hotels across the UK: Norbreck Castle Hotel, Blackpool; Grand Hotel Llandudno; Grand Hotel Scarborough; Grand Burstin Hotel, Folkestone and Royal Bath Hotel, Bournemouth.
Created to appeal to both adults and families, Britannia said the new scheme aims to revive the spirit of the traditional British seaside hotel break, where visitors can experience “a lively and sociable atmosphere” and a lineup of activities and performances throughout their stay.
Entertainment planned throughout the week includes wellbeing sessions, arts and crafts, sporting games, interactive game shows and professionally-produced live shows.
The hotel group said the initiative was designed to meet increasing demand for experience-led stays, adding that its launch weekend at Blackpool’s Norbreck Castle Hotel sold out.
The programme comes as Britannia invests more than £1m in installing entertainment teams in all of its hotels, along with associated technology and equipment.
It has additionally updated entertainment lounges, events spaces and communal areas.
Helen Rees, director of Britannia Hotels Group, said: “Many people still love the idea of the classic British seaside hotel break, where entertainment and social activities are part of the experience. Our new entertainment hotels are bringing back that spirit, with a full programme of activities, shows and performances running throughout the day and night.
“Importantly, everything is included for our guests. All activities are free and we are retaining our existing room prices so guests can enjoy a fun and sociable break without paying extra. This initiative forms part of our wider focus on enhancing the guest experience and investing in our UK-wide portfolio.”
