Specialist Leisure Group (SLG) has revealed it is looking to increase its hotel portfolio in the UK by sourcing management contracts with independent hotels.

SLG is the parent company for eight travel brands including Shearings Holidays, National Holidays, Bay Hotels, Coast and Country Hotels and Country Living Hotels.

The group said it aims to offer hoteliers the opportunity to improve hotel performance through SLG’s “experience and expertise” of operating 44 hotels around the country.

SLG said it would look to help hoteliers benefit from the group’s buying power, year round distribution through the group’s four tour operator businesses, its supplier agreements with websites, travel agents and third party distributors.

Richard Calvert, CEO of SLG, said: “We are a vertically integrated leisure company carrying over one million customers a year though our multiple distribution channels, transportation options and three distinct hotels brands. Our hotels achieve enviable high occupancies year round. This is done by us leveraging our own tour operator brands while also working with third party distribution partners to drive incredible levels of repeat customers through coach, self drive, rail and air holidays.

“We can significantly add value to independent hotels through our expertise in operating hotels, our Group buying power, increasing occupancy year-round and ultimately driving a better bottom line. Our hotel brands of Bay Hotels, Coast and Country Hotels and Country Living Hotels are located throughout the UK from Inverness to St Ives and cover a wide demographic of customers such as UK over-55s, families and international visitors seeking city, seaside and countryside experiences.”
