The property, which is operated by the independent UK hotel management company RBH, has seen around £250,000 invested in improvements to a number of guest rooms.
Some 52 rooms have been refurbished, which the brand said aims to “ensure today’s smart travellers enjoy all of the amenities they are used to”, with facilities upgraded to meet Holiday Inn Express’ Generation 4 standards, including fully upgraded Wifi throughout the property.
The completion of this stage of works marks the end of a phased, long term project to transform all 132 of the hotel’s bedrooms.
Further plans are in the pipeline for £800,000 of improvements to the hotel’s ground floor public areas and facilities, as well as the conversion of existing space into additional guest rooms.
Icynth Ferrão, general manager of Holiday Inn Express Cheltenham, said: “We’re thrilled to see the remaining 52 rooms in the hotel transformed and hope our guests enjoy their new surroundings. Having all of our guest rooms in line with the Holiday Inn Express Generation 4 standards gives us an edge when it comes to providing excellent accommodation within the historic town of Cheltenham.
“We’re also very much looking forward to the prospect of additional guest rooms and further improvements to the public areas of the hotel.”
