Radisson Hotel Group has opened its first property in the Austrian state of Tyrol with the launch of Radisson Red Innsbruck.
The 161-room hotel forms part of Das Raiqa, a new mixed-use quarter developed by Raiffeisen-Landesbank at the intersection of Innsbruck main train station and the Old Town. The development brings together hotel, gastronomy, retail, art and event spaces in a shared urban environment.
Built with 1,600 cubic metres of regionally sourced timber, the hotel features untreated wood as a structural element in its rooms. The building features a 440-square-metre atrium rising 35 metres under a glass canopy, where the hotel and bank share public spaces. Around 10,000 people pass through the quarter each day.
All guest rooms are located on the upper floors of the building, featuring at least two walls of untreated timber. Room categories range from 23-square-metre standard rooms to 44-square-metre suites.
The property includes LOFT9, a rooftop restaurant and bar on the ninth floor that serves modern Tyrolean cuisine. The hotel also features a 90-square-metre gym and an outdoor training area.
For conferences and events, the hotel offers Saal Friedrich, a 320-square-metre space on the upper floors for up to 220 guests, which connects to a 128-square-metre outdoor terrace. The development also includes Victor, an 89-square-metre flexible meeting space, and six additional boardrooms.
Yilmaz Yildirimlar, chief operating officer of managed hotels Europe at Radisson, said: “We are very deliberate about where and how we introduce Radisson Red, and Innsbruck is a natural fit. With its mix of international visitors, strong meetings demand and immediate access to the outdoors, the city reflects the duality that defines the brand.
“Combined with the integrated concept of Das Raiqa, this creates a hotel that is not only distinct in design, but also highly relevant for how people travel and meet today.”
Matthias Guttengeber, general manager at Radisson Red Innsbruck, added: “Radisson Red Innsbruck is designed to reflect how people move through the city – between work, leisure and the outdoors. With Das Raiqa bringing together different uses in one place, and a strong meetings and events offering, we are positioning the hotel as a social and professional hub from day one.”
