Hospitality Action will expand its annual fundraising walk into two new UK locations when the industry event returns in October, organisers have announced.
The addition of Hampshire and Suffolk brings the total number of nationwide walking routes to 14. The initiative, which raises money for the wellbeing and support services of the charity, offers participants a choice between 10km and 20km walks throughout the month.
The event will begin in Glasgow on 10 October 2026 to coincide with World Mental Health Day, before progressing through cities including Liverpool, Manchester, and London. Since its inception six years ago, the programme has expanded from a single London group to a national campaign that drew more than 1,400 participants and raised £170,000 last year.
Corporate partners for the event include recruitment firm Mum, Caterer, HR in Hospitality, Imperial London Hotels, and Nespresso. Organisers have also introduced a flexible participation option allowing individuals to design their own routes during the two-week campaign.
Creator of Walk for Wellbeing Craig Prentice said: “What started as a simple way to bring people together during a difficult time for hospitality in 2020, six years on, it’s incredibly inspiring to see the event continue to grow each year and unite people across the country. The hospitality industry has always been powered by people, and people thrive when they feel connected.
“Walk for Wellbeing acknowledges the industry’s continued journey of resilience and reconnection and brings together individuals, teams and businesses to champion a positive conversation around wellbeing and celebrate personal connection and support across the industry.”
