Leonard Curtis Business Solutions Group has found a buyer for Botleigh Grange, a hotel and spa in Southampton, after it entered administration in January.
The 17th Century country house was sold to an international hotelier for an undisclosed sum.
The property is an established hotel located in Hedge End, a suburb of Southampton, which has 55 bedrooms, five function rooms, a restaurant and a bar. The independent hotel is currently closed and undergoing a survey.
Neil Bennett and Andrew Duncan, directors at Leonard Curtis Business Solutions Group, were appointed by MSP Capital Limited, one of the largest property financiers in southern England, as joint administrators to Botleigh Grange Limited earlier this year.
Bennett and Duncan said a number of parties expressed an interest in the property, recognising the “potential to generate and grow revenue” from a range of income streams such as accommodation, food and drink, conference and banqueting, leisure and spa breaks.
The joint administrators also worked “closely” with commercial property consultants Lambert Smith Hampton in Southampton to close the deal.
Bennett said: “The property has attracted a high level of interest, as expected, and the buyer is an extremely experienced hotelier from overseas. Botleigh Grange is currently being surveyed to establish the necessary work required before the hotel can be opened.”
