Leonardo Hotels has unveiled the result of the first phase of its £11.5m refurbishment of the Leonardo Royal London City hotel, due for completion in June 2020.
Renovations to the hotel’s 307-bedrooms began last year with the new rooms now featuring a new colour scheme, design and furnishings.
The hotel said a large part of the investment has been dedicated to “transforming” the hotel’s public areas, which include the lobby and reception area. The lobby will be decorated with a brass metal finish, double-sided electric fireplaces and feature leather and velvet furnishings.
The hotel’s food and beverage offering will also undergo a full rebrand which will see Leonardo Hotel’s new Corvo and Leo’s concepts make a debut at the property.
Jason Carruthers, managing director of Leonardo Hotels UK and Ireland, said: “Last year’s acquisition of the three central London locations was a milestone which we are very proud of. Since then, we have worked non-stop and have big plans for all three hotels, most notably for Leonardo Royal London City.
“This year, following an incredible £11.5 million investment, our plans are coming to fruition. We are extremely excited to unveil the finished product to our customers this summer.”
Leonardo Royal London City is one of three Leonardo Royal central London properties to be added to the Jurys Inn and Leonardo Hotels UK and Ireland portfolio in 2019.
Its portfolio includes 48 hotels around the UK and Ireland, which include 36 under its Jurys Inn brand and 12 under the Leonardo Hotel brand.
