Hellaby Hall hotel in Hellaby, near Rotherham, has been sold off a guide price of £5.6m.

The Grade II listed property dates back to the 17th Century and has retained many of its historic features including an original Jacobean facade.

The 89-bedroom hotel now features an AA Rosette restaurant, health and leisure club with a swimming pool and conference and events facilities for up to 500 guests.

Tom Cunningham, hotels director at Savills, which handled the sale, said: “This picturesque hotel provides multiple income streams and has a strong trading record based on its popularity with both corporate and leisure guests.

“As such, we received high levels of market interest and were able to complete the sale process within just four months.”

The sale was completed on behalf of Ryan Grant, Lee Causer and Catherine Williamson of AlixPartners Services UK, the joint administrators of Fontenhall.
