Diners at the Park Inn by Radisson Hotel in Manchester have helped to raise £1,025 for the local charity, Forever Manchester.
Every time a dish from the hotel’s ‘House Favourites’ menu was ordered, 50p was donated to Forever Manchester. Dishes on the menu included fish and chips and steak and Manchester ale pie.
The hotel committed to donating 50p whenever guests ordered some its menu’s most popular dishes as part of a pledge to raise over £10,000 for Forever Manchester, which distributes money to local people and groups trying to make a change in neighbourhoods across Greater Manchester.
To celebrate the successful start of the campaign, which has not resulted in price rises on the menu, Park Inn’s general manager Neil Raw presented a cheque to the head of business development at Forever Manchester, Jean Mills.
Neil commented: “We have been thrilled with the success of such a simple campaign. Yes, the 50p donation does affect our profits as it is not a discretionary donation but that was the decision and commitment we made to our CSR agenda and to Forever Manchester and we were delighted to make the first official ‘cheque presentation’. This is just one of the many ways we are supporting the charity but we believe it puts our charitable ambitions right in front of our customers and they have clearly embraced it as during that month, we did see an increase in orders from this section of the menu.”
After adopting the charity, the hotel team now aims to raise in excess of £10,000 over the next 12 months to support Forever Manchester’s ‘Manchester Million’ campaign.
Jean Mills remarked: “We are delighted at the innovative ways that Park Inn chooses to support Forever Manchester; both in terms of donations and the way their customers can see their commitment to local charity.”
