Hilton achieved the milestone following a strategic social media campaign with the aim of engaging fans in target demographics. For example, the brand launched UK and Mexico-specific pages earlier in the year as part of a focusing of its audience growth plan.
The strategy also focused efforts on target countries where Hilton enjoys a strong brand recognition and presence, and through wide-reaching targeting of users who like hotel brands, airlines, loyalty programmes and other like-minded brands.
To celebrate, the company has introduced a special discount promotion to run until the end of March.
