EasyHotel is trialling a ‘pupgrade’ service at its Old Street property to allow dog owners to book their pets in for a stay for an additional £10 per night.Claiming to be the only UK hotel chain which allows guests to bring their pets, EasyHotel is aiming to tap into a new London trend, ‘Social Petworking’, which has seen an increasing number of small dogs accompany their owners on business trips.
For the additional charge, guests at EasyHotel in Old Street can request an orange ‘pet yurt’, an orange ‘chewvet’, a bone on arrival and a small ‘Minibark’ fridge stocked with gourmet pet snacks and drinks.
Snack options on the menu include treats developed by Michel Roux and a bottle of ‘Pawsecco’, a non-alcoholic dog food jus that can be poured over a dish.
Muhammad Manan, operations director at EasyHotel, said: “In the past, I’ve had requests for pets of all shapes and sizes, including on one occasion a horse.
“Unfortunately, due to headroom considerations, a small lift and limited availability of straw we had to turn that request down, but we’ll always do our best to make a pet feel welcome.”
