As part of a strategic growth and brand development move, hospitality management company, GG Hospitality has brought in former Island Hotels Group CEO Winston Zahra as chief executive.
CFO, Andy Floyd and head of PR and communications, Kate Greville, will also join Zahra in newly created roles to strengthen the company’s leadership team. Group operations director, Stewart Davies will complete the company’s new executive management team.
GG Hospitality said the team has been tasked with “expanding the business and elevating its growing portfolio of brands”, which include Hotel Football, Cafe Football, GG Events and Catering, as well as the soon to be launched five-star boutique hotel, Stock Exchange Manchester.
Zahra has joined GG Hospitality with over 30 years’ experience in the hospitality industry. As former co-owner and CEO of Malta based Island Hotels Group Zahra was involved in taking the group public and subsequently managed its sale to International Hotel Investments (IHI).
Commenting on his appointment, Zahra said: “Joining a unique and ambitious company like GG Hospitality is very exciting. As part of a new business model and with the support of Stewart, Andy and Kate, as well as the extremely talented wider team, I’m looking forward to driving continued growth and am fully committed to leading the business and the brand into its next level of expansion.”
GG Hospitality co-owners Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs added: “Our new executive team is made up of experts in their fields. Winston is an experienced CEO and an outstanding leader. He brings a track record of reshaping businesses while simultaneously driving outstanding financial performance.
“Stewart has been instrumental in the success of the business since he started working with us in 2015, while Andy and Kate have produced exceptional results throughout their prospective careers. We’re looking forward to seeing what the next chapter will bring for GG Hospitality.”
