Nico spoke about founding the group alongside his longtime friend Gareth, having had a vision for bringing more nature spaces to cities, the planned extension of The Buxton in Spitalfields, and how the site’s storytelling engages guests and the local community, how the Culpeper Family’s core sustainability ethos helped it secure its B-Corp status and why hospitality has a responsibility to educate and innovate when it comes to sustainability.

Profitroom has announced it is set to deliver a webinar with HOSPA, the Hospitality Professionals Association, which will see it impart advice to hoteliers on how they can set themselves up “to take maximum advantage” of the staycation rush once lockdown ends.

Set for the 10 March 2021, the talk will look at all the key areas that hotels can focus on to optimise the online guest experience to ensure more bookings, but especially direct bookings that bypass OTA commission fees.

Profitroom will also be calling upon St Michael’s Resort, a luxury, four-star hotel in Falmouth, Cornwall, which took full advantage of 2020’s summer holiday season and will look to offer advice on how other operators can follow suit as we emerge from lockdown.

Profitroom, as part of its services, uses its advanced technological offering to access data from more than 3,500 hotels around the world. The brand will be calling upon this data as part of its presentation.

Samantha Williams, UK market owner at Profitroom, who will be talking at the event, said: “Hotels are now in a pivotal period. Following months of lockdown, we’ve been given a definitive end date by the Prime Minister. The response to which has seen the public start to enthusiastically book staycations – and hotels need to be properly prepared if they’re to take full advantage of this heightened demand.

“We’re already seeing immediate signs from our hotel data that a bumper year is on the way, so hotels need to do everything they can to ensure they’re well placed to not only harness the high levels of interest, but also to amplify their margins and maximise their chance of not just recovering but actively thriving.”

Jane Pendlebury, CEO of HOSPA, who will be hosting the event, added: “With our sector poised to reopen, everyone within it needs to be ready. The public has been cooped up for so long that they’re all eager to get away. With international travel a more complicated prospect, UK hotels are set for a real boom in trade.

“Profitroom’s expertise focuses on maximising revenues, and they’re looking to impart some key advice via the masterclass. We’re very much looking forward to being a part of it, and we urge hoteliers operating at all levels to join us and listen in.”

The webinar is to be held on March 10 2021 between 10am and 11am.
