Amaris Hospitality gears up for expansion with new development head

Hotel investment and management Group, Amaris Hospitality, has announced its intention to expand operations across the UK and Europe with the appointment of James Tynan as head of Corporate Development and Transactions. Signalling its intent to “capitalise on new prospects and refocus its strategic growth ambitions post-pandemic”, the business has appointed Tynan to oversee new investment and acquisition opportunities, with a particular focus on growing a presence in key strategic locations across Europe while also expanding the UK and Ireland portfolio. Amaris Hospitality has a growing portfolio of 30 hotels trading under international brands across the UK and Ireland, such as Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn, DoubleTree by Hilton, Mercure, and Ibis Styles. The Group operates almost 5,000 rooms across the UK and Ireland. Prior to joining Amaris Hospitality, Tynan, who has 25 years’ experience in the hospitality sector, held the role of president of Hospitality for the Alshaya Group in Kuwait, where he was responsible for launching their entry into the hotel industry, sourcing hotel developments across the Middle East, and agreeing master franchise deals with major international brands and ultimately establishing their hotel platform. Before that, he held positions with Hilton as VP of Real Estate and Asset Management for Europe, Meridien, Sheraton and Clarion hotels across diverse geographies, including operations in the USA, UK, Africa and parts of the Middle East.
