Vine Hotels to operate West Plaza Hotel

The 85-bedroom independent hotel formerly traded as a Premier Inn and will be the subject of a ‘considerable’ refurbishment before reopening

West Plaza Hotel has been let to Vine Hotels on the instructions of Real Estate Investors PLC (REI), and under the direction of property consultancy group Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH).

The 85-bedroom independent hotel formerly traded as a Premier Inn and will now be the subject of a “considerable” refurbishment before reopening.

The hotel is situated less than just a five minute walk from West Bromwich town centre, only 0.6 miles away from junction 1 of the M5 motorway, and a 20 minute tram journey to Birmingham City Centre.

Martin Davis, director, hotels and leisure at Lambert Smith Hampton, said: “We are delighted to have completed the letting of the West Plaza Hotel on behalf of our clients REI following a competitive marketing campaign.

“The hotel offers so much potential to the new incoming operators, Vine Hotels. This transaction and Vine Hotels growth during the Covid-19 pandemic demonstrates that the demand for well located good quality hotels has returned.”

Garin Davies, chief executive of Vine Hotels, added: “The West Plaza is an exciting property for Vine Hotels, given its excellent location.

“The hotel has immense potential for the future, and we look forward to helping the West Plaza take its rightful place as one of West Bromwich’s best hotels following its refurbishment.“
