The Old Stocks Inn in Stow-on-the-Wold, Gloucestershire, has introduced an in-room concierge service using a bespoke version of Amazon’s Alexa assistant.
It enables guests to ask Alexa questions about the hotel such as check out and breakfast serving times by using the prompt: “Alexa, ask the hotel”.
Jim Cockell, owner of the hotel, said: “Consumers are becoming increasingly used to interacting with artificial intelligence systems like Alexa and so it makes perfect sense to introduce this technology into the hotel environment.
“It means our guests don’t have to pick up the phone or travel downstairs to reception to ask a simple question. They have all the information they need right there in their room, and the feedback has been fantastic.”
