The Lancaster Landmark Hotel Company, a global collection of luxury hotels, has appointed
Nicola Forshaw as group director of human resources.
In her previous position, Forshaw was part of the senior team that secured the hotel’s ‘Investors in People’ Platinum Level Accreditation and its place as number four in the acclaimed The Sunday Times’ ‘100 Best Companies to Work For’ list.
Throughout her time at The Landmark London, the group said Forshaw delivered innovative new HR policies, most recently an initiative to enable the hotel’s chefs to work a four-day week, with increased pay.
As group director of human resources, Forshaw and her team of 14 will deliver on the business’ ongoing mission to reach an outstanding level of quality in people management, engagement and wellbeing, ensuring that each property has a “flexible and agile” working culture that supports team members and delivers excellence for their guests.
The hotel said this new role will enable the business to create a unified approach to human resources across all its properties for the first time as it continues to invest in the wellbeing of its people and seeks to expand the size of its team from 700 to 1,000 employees in 2022.
The group added Forshaw will report to Fergus Stewart, deputy managing director of The Lancaster Landmark Hotel Company.
Stewart said: “This is a bold new change for The Lancaster Landmark Hotel Company. We are unifying our approach to HR across all four of our properties to increase investment in the wellbeing of our people as we expand the size of the team from 700 to 1,000 employees in 2022.
“Nicola’s fantastic experience and work at The Landmark London makes her the right choice to lead this change alongside myself as the business delivers a flexible and agile working culture that supports team members and delivers excellence for our guests.”
Forshaw added: “After nearly 12 years as director of human resources at The Landmark London, where I delivered the hotels’ HR strategy, most recently launching a four day working week for chefs, I’m excited to begin my new role as group director across all The Lancaster Landmark Hotel properties.”
