The Bird, a boutique hotel located in Bath’s city centre, has hit the market at a guide price of £8.5m.
The Bird is one of three boutique hotels in Bath owned and operated by Kaleidoscope Collection, which includes the Homewood Hotel and Spa and the recently purchased Bishopstrow Hotel and Spa in Warminster.
The hotel also includes a restaurant and bar, complete with a large outdoor terrace, three dining domes, and private dining options for those seeking a private culinary experience or a function venue.
Overall, it comprises 29 en-suite bedrooms, each individually designed with hand-crafted wallpaper and artwork in keeping with the hotel’s boutique design.
Additionally, the Bird offers visitors views across the city’s parkland, including a sight of the Bath Abbey and Bath Rugby’s stadium, ‘The Rec’, and is a short walk from the Roman Baths and Bath Spa Railway Station.
The hotel is owned and operated by Ian and Christa Taylor, who have appointed global property adviser Knight Frank LLP as the sole selling agent.
Ian Taylor, owner of the Kaleidoscope Collection, said: “The Bird has been a much-loved project by all those involved in its redevelopment and subsequent success as a hotel, and it is now ready to fledge the Kaleidoscope nest.
“We always have our eyes peeled for the next project for the Kaleidoscope Collection and in the meantime, we are excited to continue focusing our energies on the further expansion of Homewood and investing in the future of Bishopstrow.”
Henry Jackson, partner in the Knight Frank Hotels team, added: “A truly unique offering in the beating heart of Bath, The Bird is a glorious example of a well-run, highly profitable independent hotel business, with unique interior design features in keeping with the owners’ mantra ‘luxury for the curious’.
“We expect a significant volume of interest from investors for this boutique hotel in one of the UK’s top tourist destinations.”
