RBH Hospitality Management has relaunched its Pyramid Programme – a fast-track talent development scheme for hospitality professionals “showing great promise”.
Kicking off this month at the Doubletree by Hilton Edinburgh City Centre, the group said the development programme has found itself again at the top of RBH’s staff retention agenda, since the scheme was halted in 2020 due to the pandemic.
The programme is designed to give “ambitious” heads of departments within the RBH portfolio of 45+ hotels an opportunity to fast-track into senior roles with the right training.
It revealed the intake of 12 candidates this year has seen them go through a thorough assessment and selection process as they’ll now participate in a series of hotel management masterclasses. The topics are regularly adapted to remain relevant to the industry and the challenges it faces, with the first focusing on a framework of leadership. Other masterclasses will vary from operational and commercial performance, to ESG.
On reigniting the programme, Niki Fincham, Group Learning and development manager at RBH, said: “I am proud that investing in training and development remains a key focus for RBH, particularly at a time when attracting and retaining talent is proving difficult across the hospitality industry. I strongly believe that offering development opportunities is essential above all else when it comes to retention.
“Many of our candidates have been with RBH throughout the various lockdowns and have already demonstrated numerous skills, knowledge and resilience. Representing a range of hospitality backgrounds, including different hotel brands and service levels, I am looking forward to seeing how they each develop and progress throughout the process.”
