Apex City Quay Hotel and Spa in Dundee has appointed a new general manager to head its front of house following its recent refurbishment.
Experienced hotelier, Ronnie MacKay, will lead the team at the four-star hotel in the heart of the city.
MacKay, who is originally from Glasgow, will oversee operations at the 151-bed hotel, which recently received a multi-million pound refurbishment and boasts the award-winning Yu Spa as well as a swimming pool, fitness suite and dedicated events space.
With more than 30 years’ experience in the industry, MacKay has worked in operations and general management in properties across the UK, most recently as regional managing director for Macdonald Hotels and Resorts, looking after its hotels across the central belt of Scotland.
MacKay said: “I’m thrilled to have joined the team here at Apex City Quay Hotel and Spa. Having just undergone a £2.4m refurbishment, the hotel’s location and facilities are fantastic, and it’s wonderful to be working with such a great team which prides itself on putting the guest at the heart of everything they do, and delivering Apex Hotels’ signature warmer welcome.
“With Dundee seeing a resurgence, I’m keen to build on the great team ethos here at Apex City Quay Hotel and Spa in order to give our guests a truly first-class experience, whether they’re travelling for work or leisure, or just popping in for a coffee or a bite to eat at our excellent restaurant.”
