Siann Reid has been appointed as the general manager of the Doubletree by Hilton Glasgow Westerwood Spa and Golf Resort.

With extensive knowledge in food and beverage and leisure management, Reid’s career history spans over 13 years within the hospitality industry, having worked for Macdonald Hotels and Resorts for the past five years.

This most recently included her role as general manager at Cardrona Hotel, Golf and Spa where she was responsible for the 99-bedroom property with 700+ member leisure club and spa with five treatment rooms, an 18-hole championship golf course, plus restaurant, bars and event spaces.

Reid also managed Holyrood Hotel and Inchyra Hotel and Spa. Prior to MacDonald, Reid worked for Drummonds Groups, Orocco Pier, The Clubhouse and Castle Leisure Group.

In her new role, Reid will help to develop and maintain the hotel’s strong position within the market of Glasgow and Central Belt, adding and maximising facilities to attract a full mix of visitors, from couples and families to large corporate groups. She will continue to grow the business in a sustainable manner.

Reid said: “I’m thrilled to come on board and take the lead in establishing Doubletree by Hilton Glasgow Westerwood Spa and Golf Resort as a high-end four-star resort. It was clear from the point of introduction that there was a real shared value for our most valuable asset, our people.

“I’m very proud to be a leader within our industry and to share my passion with a team of like-minded people in a great property. Supporting the growth and development of my team will always be a priority. My vision for the experience they provide is that our guests can’t wait to come here and never want to leave.”

She added: “As corporate business continues its upward trajectory, there is plenty of new opportunity to draw on within MICE with new relationships to be made as well as looking to enhance the delivery and offering within the hotel for those who continue to return.”

The Doubletree by Hilton Glasgow Westerwood Spa and Golf resort is a purpose-built contemporary resort set in rural central Scotland. It features an indoor pool and a premium spa with eight treatment rooms for on-site relaxation.

The resort sits in prime position between many of Scotland’s highlights including The Kelpies, Edinburgh and Stirling Castles, plus city centre Glasgow. The 18-hole golf course designed by Seve Ballesteros and Dave Thomas is hugely popular amongst locals and tourists.
