The Old Bridge, an 18th Century townhouse hotel in Cambridgeshire, has been brought to market with offers being sought in excess of £8m
The well-established family-owned business, known for attracting locals and tourists, is situated on the banks of the River Great Ouse in Huntingdon, a historic market town. The town is on the axis of the A1 and A14, with easy access in all directions, while Cambridge is 20 minutes to the south.
The Old Bridge features 24 luxurious en-suite bedrooms, with a restaurant, private dining room, bar, wine shop, meeting rooms and function areas.
It has achieved a ‘Gold Award’ status for the past 10 years from the English Tourism Council and has been awarded the best value wine list for the whole of Europe by ‘World of Fine Wine’ magazine.
Ryan Lynn, hotels partner at Knight Frank, the sole selling agent for the site, said: “This is a unique opportunity for investors to acquire a very profitable business, which has been in the same family ownership for 50 years and has a great reputation across the UK.
“The prime location and excellent product attract a broad range of customers, from locals to international visitors. The hotel’s consistent popularity is evidenced by its excellent profits over the years.”
He added: “The hotel also holds strong growth opportunities with potential for extra bedrooms, spa treatment rooms and expansion of the riverside event space. We expect to generate high levels of interest from potential buyers.”
