OYO to add over 50 hotels to UK portfolio this year

OYO is set to add over 50 hotels to its UK portfolio this year as the group continues its expansion in the country amid growing demand. 

It currently has over 150 small hotels in over 65 cities in its UK network, and last year added new hotels in Otterburn, Folkestone, Worcester, Swansea, Crewe, Kidderminster, Solihull, Peterhead and Boston.

Looking ahead, OYO said it plans to expand and focus on Leeds, Brighton and Plymouth this coming year. The company currently has 27 hotels in London on its platform and 38 in the Midlands region.

It comes as the group has rolled out a completely automated self-check-in technology solution to lower down labour and utility costs, provide a “seamless experience” to guests and reduce day to day operational hassles for hotel owners. 

Gautam Swaroop, CEO of OYO International said: “We have witnessed a great deal of interest from hotel owners across the country owing to our industry-leading demand, revenue generation and management capabilities along with operational ease that OYO offers. 

“Our result-oriented tech stack has been a draw for many entrepreneurs in the UK who are looking to improve and scale their hotel business. With this expansion we plan to enable many small businesses in the region so they can realise their full potential and manage their business with ease.”

Puneet Yadav, head of OYO UK, said: “We have seen strong demand in the UK with over 20 patrons adding multiple hotels with us after seeing improved profits. Encouraged by this – we have doubled our business development effort with 30+ hotels in advanced-stage negotiations to join OYO and we hope to bring more hotels on our platform in 2023.”

OYO UK added 40 hotels to its platform in 2022 and doubled its revenue in the same year. Its network hotels also saw a 50% rise in revenue per available room (RevPar) against 2021 and a 110% jump against 2020.
