Millikin previously oversaw the launch of the Calcot Manor Group’s Painswick Hotel in Stroud in 2016, where he then stayed on as general manager. He has also held deputy roles at IBIS and the Abode Hotels Group.
Commenting on his appointment Millikin said: “I loved my time at Painswick, but I was ready for a new challenge and was looking for the opportunity to work for a bigger hotel, or one in a vibrant town centre.
“With Hotel du Vin I found both. I’m delighted to have been appointed General Manager at one of the town’s best and most-loved hotels, and to have inherited such a fantastic team. I’m really looking forward to getting to know our guests and the local community.”
Scott Harper, CEO of Malmaison Hotel du Vin, added: “Luke’s impressive experience made him a natural choice for the General Manager role. I’m delighted to welcome him to Hotel du Vin and look forward to working with him to further build on the hotel’s success.”
