Lydiard Park Hotel and Conference Centre in Swindon has officially opened this week following an extensive £2.6m refurbishment that delivered a “modern and stylish” destination for business and leisure customers.
The project included a major refurbishment of the hotel’s 32 bedrooms, reception, conferencing suite, and the creation of the new Palm Bar and Restaurant.
The 32 bedrooms at the historic country estate have undergone a complete refurbishment, featuring high-specification bathrooms, luxury furnishings, and amenities to “ensure maximum comfort” for residents.
As a result, double, family and twin rooms are now available to book online, in addition to an executive suite with views across the park landscape.
All rooms are en-suite and include tea and coffee-making facilities, complimentary Wi-Fi and TVs. Rates start from just £90 per night with included breakfast.
The hotel’s largest function room, the Luxborough, has been “tastefully” remodelled into a modern open-plan, spacious area for events, conferences and special occasions with its own dedicated private bar and a 140-seat capacity.
Cllr Jim Robbins, leader of Swindon Borough Council, who attended the opening, said: “The transformation of the hotel and conference centre has been outstanding and I’m so pleased to finally see the launch of the new Lydiard Park Hotel and Conference Centre.
“I’m particularly impressed with the new bar and restaurant and I’m sure I’ll try and pop in every time I visit the park. Alongside works that have already been completed, this project is part of an ongoing programme to ensure this much-loved site is self-sustainable, which will protect its future as a publicly owned, Council-run asset.”
He added: “I would urge everyone to visit Lydiard Park and call into the new Palm Bar and enjoy a drink and something to eat in the most stunning surroundings.”
