Kimpton Blythswood Square appoints new general manager
The hotel is part of Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants, a leading luxury lifestyle and wellness brand, from IHG Hotels and Resorts
Kimpton Blythswood Square has announced the appointment of Daniel Moran to the role of general manager.
Moran brings with him over 15 years of hospitality experience to his new role, having most recently held the position of general manager at the very first Vignette Collection, Hotel X Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, which he helped to launch in 2021.
During his tenure he led the team at Hotel X Fortitude Valley to win Australia’s Best Upper-Upscale Hotel at 2022 HM Awards and Australia’s Best Hotel Bar at 2022 AHA Awards.
Moran: “It feels like the perfect time to come back to Glasgow and join the team at Kimpton Blythswood Square. Glasgow is a special city, with an amazing atmosphere. I’ve enjoyed watching it develop from afar in recent years; the food scene continues to evolve, and it’s increasingly become a destination for major events.
“I’m bringing with me a deep understanding of how creating authentic guest experiences engages with local communities. Kimpton is a landmark hotel in Glasgow, and I’m looking forward to being a part of it, meeting the team and our guests.”
The hotel recently reopened the doors of Spa at Blythswood Square following a seven-figure refurbishment inspired by the natural beauty of the Scottish Hebrides.
Moran will be tasked with leading what the hotel is calling a “new era of wellness”.
Kimpton Blythswood Square is located within the 113-room Georgian townhouse hotel which overlooks private gardens.
