Splendid Hospitality Group has appointed Andrew Kendrick as its new managing director of Hotels, responsible for overseeing the performance of all 24 hotels within its portfolio, whilst managing the central support services for all hotel businesses.
Kendrick first joined Splendid in 2016 as regional operations manager, looking after a selection of Splendid’s hotels. He became divisional managing director in 2019, and group operations director in 2020.
As part of an internal restructure of Splendid Hospitality’s senior management team, his new role will bring together Splendid’s diverse portfolio of branded and independent hotels under one umbrella, with a focus on driving performance and creating unified systems and reporting.
Ranging from select service to five-star luxury hotels in key locations throughout the UK, Kendrick’s portfolio will also include the development of a pipeline of new developments and refurbishments.
Kendrick said: “Splendid has always been an entrepreneurial business with incredible agility, and it is a real honour to build on my seven years with the family by taking over the leadership of the entire hotel portfolio. I think it is vitally important to maintain what has made us great over the years, and work as a united team to ensure all our hotels work together to deliver extraordinary experiences to our guests with the Splendid values at the heart of everything we do.
“We are in a truly blessed position to operate hotels from North to South and East to West across the United Kingdom, with over seven different brands as well as some unique independent hotels within our group. We have an opportunity to take our team members on an incredible journey of development within our company, and I am excited to be part of this next chapter for Splendid.”
