The Bath Hotel in Lynmouth has announced the appointment of Cavin Mpofu as the hotel’s new general manager.

With over 23 years’ experience in hotel management, a strong background in revenue and HR and having been nominated twice for the Boutique Hotel Awards, Mpofu brings a “wealth” of knowledge and expertise to his new role.

He has previously worked in Dubai, South Africa, Austria, and London, and has experience working with luxury brands as well as privately owned properties.

Mpfou joins the hotel following the completion of an eight-year refurbishment programme on all rooms, outlets, and public areas. The culmination of this project is the expansion of its current leisure offering to include meetings, weddings, and events.

Located on the harbourside in Lynmouth on the North Devon Coast, The Bath Hotel is a restored Victorian boutique hotel that features 20 rooms and suites, many of which have sea views, a 60-seat restaurant, Aubrey Cocktail Bar and an award-winning pub, The Ancient Mariner.

Owner Carly Glover said: “We are thrilled to welcome Cavin to The Bath Hotel  Team. His extensive experience and dedication to excellence fits in perfectly with the vision and plans we have for our hotel. Having completed an  extensive renovation project we are looking at the next phase in the  journey of the hotel and Cavin is the person to lead us on that.”

Mpofu added: “‘This is an exciting  opportunity for me to contribute my passion, experience, and enthusiasm towards the growth of the business. We are incredibly proud that we are  still delivering exceptional service and delicious food and drink in the same  beautiful surroundings that Ms Glover’s grandparents were, over 73 years ago and I can’t wait to showcase this beautiful property.”
