Motel One Group has announced plans to open two new hotels in the UK this year, forming part of the group’s wider European expansion with eight properties launching across the continent in 2024.
Later this year, London will welcome a duo of Motel One properties in the popular areas of Old Street and Hyde Park. While Old Street will boast 237 rooms, guests can check into one of the 197 rooms at Hyde Park.
Both join Motel One’s current hotel at Tower Hill, bringing the brand’s property count to three hotels in London.
Motel One now features a portfolio of 11 properties across Edinburgh, Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester, London and Dublin.
The group, which includes the Motel One and The Cloud One Hotels brands, will also launch sites in other hotspots including Prague and Lisbon throughout the year.
Daniel Müller, co-CEO at Motel One, said: “As we move into a very exciting chapter of growth, the Motel One Group is looking forward to adding eight new European hotels to our expanding portfolio this year. From the vibrant streets of Prague to the historic charm of London, we are committed to providing an exceptional experience every time for every guest.”
Last summer, the group launched its first hotel in Ireland – Motel One Dublin. Located in the north of the city, close to the Ha’penny Bridge and Temple Bar area, the hotel is inspired by the Dublin-centred novel Ulysses by Irish writer James Joyce.
The design of the 310-room hotel reflects the narrative of the book, as Leopold Bloom takes a walk through the city of Dublin.
Müller added: “Our expansion marks our dedication to our guests’ experience but also reinforces our global growth, reaching new heights with our first venture into the busy, dynamic country of Portugal. As we open the doors in these incredible destinations, Motel One Group continues to offer affordable luxury and unparalleled design hotels for guests to enjoy.”
