Hotel management partner Focus Hotels has launched a new employee recognition scheme with a champagne lunch at Theo Randall’s restaurant in London

The initiative, set to be repeated annually, underscores Focus Hotels’ dedication to creating an “industry-leading” workplace culture that celebrates its employees. 

On Thursday 14 March, each hotel’s Employee of the Year, voted for by the teams in the hotels, were accompanied by their respective general managers to join the Focus Hotels executive team for a celebratory lunch, where they were treated to a three-course fine dining experience and presented with certificates and pin badges. 

Chef Theo Randall introduced his menu and reinforced the importance of people as the heart of hospitality before offering attendees a private tour of the kitchen.

Through the continuation of this recognition programme, Focus Hotels aims to create a “culture of appreciation and motivation”, empowering employees to excel in their roles and contribute to the company’s overarching success.

Devin Grosse, CEO of Focus Hotels, said: “The teams across our hotels play an indispensable role in delivering the exceptional guest experiences that we prioritise in each one of the properties we manage. This year’s Champagne lunch served as a heartfelt gesture of gratitude to those who have consistently gone above and beyond to support their hotels, colleagues and guests. 

“We look forward to organising similar experiences for future winners to demonstrate our deep appreciation for the hard work of our employees and the value we place on their fantastic contributions.”

Kate Jeffries, general manager at Swan’s Nest Hotel, said: “The new scheme is a wonderful way to celebrate the incredible efforts of individuals across the Focus portfolio. As a general manager, it was a joy to reward our Employee of the Year with such a special celebration, and I was immensely proud to be a part of it. I think the initiative will go a long way in inspiring our teams and making them feel like a truly valued part of the group.”

Joshua Read, who was awarded Employee of the Year at Sketchley Grange Hotel and Spa, added: “The food and restaurant left me speechless. It was so special and exciting to spend the day with the other Employee of the Year winners, celebrating an amazing achievement for us all.”
