Holiday Inn Newcastle Gosforth Park Hotel has announced the completion of the first phase of its transformation programme including a newly refurbished function suite.
The Cheviot Suite has undergone an extensive transformation and is now capable of hosting up to 500 guests.
The changes include a new ceiling and air handling system, modern lighting fixtures, wall coverings, and various other fittings.
The refurbishment is the first step of a long-term investment plan from the Ailantus Group.
The next phase of the project will focus on expanding the Ridley Suite and enhancements will feature a brand-new event bar and drinks reception area.
Peter Auld, area general manager, said: “We are excited to reveal the newly refurbished Cheviot Suite, which serves as the crown jewel of our meetings and events spaces. The redesign of the suite reflects our commitment to providing guests with exceptional venues that cater to a wide range of events, from corporate conferences to weddings and special occasions.
“We hope to grow the wedding market at the hotel now the main function room is looking fresher and more contemporary. We are also developing a new calendar of events and party nights to put in the hotel. Event ticket sales for these events have doubled in the last few months as we more heavily promote this segment of the business due to the renovated suite. We are looking to grow the meeting and events side of the business by at least 30%, so watch this space.”
