Moddershall Oaks unveils plans for new accommodation pods

In this episode we speak to brothers Alex and Adrien Grosjean, young entrepreneurs who have recently acquired The Residence Inn by Marriott Manchester Piccadilly. We discussed the reasons why Manchester’s visitor market is booming, and their decision to invest in this area, why they see extended-stay accommodation as a major opportunity in what is one of the UK's fastest-growing cities, how they plan to enhance their portfolio of hotels, and their advice for the next generation of hospitality disruptors.

Moddershall Oaks Country spa retreat has announced new investment plans to build 14 new woodland accommodation pods within its estate.

The new accommodations will be made up of eight doubles, four family pods, one honeymoon suite and a prep pod, to use as a wedding preparation space. Couples who book their weddings at Moddershall Oaks will also have the option to have exclusive use of the pods on the night of their wedding for friends and family.

Beyond weddings, the new accommodation pods will be available for corporate and leisure bookings, with breakfast provided in the nearby restaurant The Oak House as standard.

Located adjacent to the woodlands and with views of the lake, the pods connect guests with nature and allow them to immerse themselves in the countryside.

The accommodation plans were announced at the launch event of Moddershall Oaks’ new event space The Venue, which recently underwent a six-figure refurbishment

Penny Weston, director at Moddershall Oaks, said: “We’re really excited to be building new overnight accommodation onsite at Moddershall Oaks for 2025. With only 10 boutique suites on site for spa guests currently, we have seen more and more demand for onsite accommodation from guests.

“The woodland pods offer a different style of accommodation and allow us to offer different types of rooms to suit the occasion. We hope the new pods will make weddings and events feel even more special at Moddershall Oaks.”
