The Old Bell Hotel, which claims to be England’s oldest Hotel, located in Malmesbury, has appointed a new general manager and head chef.
Emanuele Mulliri has joined The Old Bell Hotel as GM. With a career spanning over three decades, Mulliri has managed “some of the world’s most iconic hotels”, including The Four Seasons in Milan, Forte Village Hotels in Sardinia and most recently spent nine years at Barnsley House, a Pride of Britain Hotel and part of the Calcot Collection.
The Old Bell Hotel has also welcomed chef Daniel Kerr as its new executive chef. Kerr brings a wealth of experience, having worked at renowned establishments like Tom Aikens’ two-star restaurant in Chelsea and the Fistral Beach Hotel & Spa in Cornwall, where he earned 2 AA Rosettes.

The Old Bell Hotel is England’s oldest purpose-built hotel, first opening in 1220. The hotel underwent a top-to-toe refurbishment in 2021 by owner Hanks and her husband, renowned antiques dealer, and collector Whit Hanks. The hotel boasts 34 bedrooms and four new townhouses, each individually designed and furnished.
