The Grade II Listed Invicta Hotel in Plymouth is set to go up for auction with Savills on 19 November.
The boutique, four-star hotel is located on the Plymouth Hoe in the southwest of England. The hotel comprises 23 bedrooms, restaurant, bar, lounge, and function facilities. The majority of the hotel has been refurbished to an “excellent standard” and offers an incoming purchaser the opportunity to refurbish the remaining areas of the hotel.
The Invicta is reported as being Plymouth’s oldest lodging house dating back to 1852 and has been family run ever since.
Roy and Betty Martin took over the keys in 2002. They said: “During the last twenty-two years we have met some amazing people. Many arriving as guests and leaving as friends who return year after year.”
Steven Cane, Savills Auctions, who is handling the sale, added: “With potential buyers expressing interest, the Martin’s have considered auctioning the property to expedite the process. We are therefore delighted to be offering the Invicta Hotel at our auction taking place on the 19th of November. I anticipate that there will be a good level of interest on the day. The guide price offers excellent market value.
“At auction, the property will be sold with vacant possession with contents removed. There is an opportunity to purchase the hotel and its contents prior to the auction at a guide price of £1.5m.”
