Fairview Hotels snaps up Holiday Inn Cardiff North

Fairview Hotels has acquired Holiday Inn Cardiff North in Wales, adding to the group’s 13 hotels and approximately 1,400 rooms.

The property features 95 bedrooms, leisure facilities, and a dedicated conference centre, and DWF LLP and Knight Frank acted as advisors to the deal which was brokered by Christie & Co.

Owned and managed by the Chatwani Brothers – Jawahar, Satish, and Rashmi – the group owns and operates hotels throughout the UK under franchise agreements with Accor brands Novotel, Mercure and Ibis.

The group has undergone significant expansion over the past few years, with the acquisition of five Novotel and two Ibis hotels between 2016 and 2017. To facilitate the growing portfolio, the operational team have moved into a new HQ at Fairview House in Stevenage, whilst the group HQ remains at Kanta House in South Ruislip.

Neil Forbes, director of hotels, said: “Fairview are delighted  to acquire this new property on the outskirts of Cardiff, which gives Fairview a much bigger presence in the area , joining  their existing Ibis Hotel (Cardiff City Centre). We are very excited to have joined the IHG network and become a Multi-Brand Operator.”
