Mar Hall Golf and Spa resort in Scotland has officially reopened its doors following a £20m refurbishment.
The five-star hotel features 74 guest rooms and suites, two restaurants, two bars and a collection of shared spaces including a 22-person private cinema, a gaming room and a billiards room.
On arrival, guests will now be welcomed by palm-canopied parlour and a newly reimagined reception area.
Seven categories of guest rooms and suites have been redesigned: from classic bedrooms to grand suites featuring separate lounges, grand pianos and pool tables. The spa garden suites will offer private gardens.
At the heart of the hotel sits The Gallery, a social hub with a marble-topped champagne bar surrounded by seating, reading nooks and a grand piano. The Gallery will also set the stage for the hotel’s afternoon tea experience curated by executive pastry chef Szilard Szentesi.
Meanwhile, The Dining Room restaurant will be led by executive chef Tony Tapia and will bring a new menu that “follows the rhythm with the seasons”. Signature Scottish dishes include the ‘West Coast Cullen’, whilst the ‘Spicy Raw Beef’ is served tableside as a twist on a traditional tartare.
The hotel has also introduced a new bar, Slàinte, that pays homage to the Scottish Gaelic tradition of toasting “to good health”. The bar will offer a new cocktail experience curated by head mixologist Chris Mullen.
The estate also features an 18-hole championship golf course, off-road 4×4 excursions and helicopter tours. Other activities include falconry, archery, axe-throwing and clay pigeon shooting.
Lastly, the hotel’s spa features six treatment rooms, a 20-metre swimming pool, saunas and steam rooms.
