PoB Hotels has welcomed three new members to its portfolio, Matfen Hall in Northumberland, Mallory Court in Warwickshire, and Penmaenuchaf in Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park.
Each new hotel brings a regional identity, significant recent investment, and a commitment to personalised guest experiences.
Founded in 1982, PoB Hotels has long celebrated independent hotels that are “deeply rooted” in their locations. Membership is “highly” selective, with hotels undergoing a thorough assessment and annual inspections to ensure they meet the quality expected across design, service, and guest experience.
Despite being part of the group, each member property remains independent ensuring each delivers a “regionally grounded experience” that reflects the character of its setting.
Situated in 300 acres of parkland in Northumberland, luxury hotel and country estate Matfen Hall offers 63 rooms, a championship golf course, award-winning dining, and a luxurious spa. A multi-million-pound restoration of the Great Hall, alongside a new bar, golf clubhouse and dining spaces has positioned it as Northumberland’s first and only five-star hotel.
James O’Donnell, head of commercial development, said: “Joining PoB Hotels marks a significant step for Matfen Hall. It’s a brand that truly understands the value of heritage, independent spirit, and guest excellence. Our partnership will allow us to connect with a broader luxury audience while showcasing the charm and appeal of Northumberland.”
Part of the Eden Hotel Collection and now joining its sister property Bovey Castle in the PoB Hotels portfolio, Mallory Court is a four AA Red Star country house hotel in Leamington Spa that recently underwent a £1.5m refurbishment of the manor house bedrooms. The hotel also features the 3 AA Rosette Dining Room and new Asian-inspired restaurant Sencha at the Elan Spa.
Mark E Chambers FIH MI, group managing director of the Eden Collection, said: “We’re delighted to bring Mallory Court into the PoB Hotels family alongside Bovey Castle. The brand’s recognition of quality and individuality makes it the perfect partner for independent hotels like ours. We’re confident this will support our continued growth and visibility.”
Part of the Seren collection and now a sister property to PoB Hotels member The Grove of Narberth, Penmaenuchaf is a country retreat perched above the Mawddach estuary in Eryri (Snowdonia). A recent design-led refurbishment with Nicola Harding has transformed bedrooms and communal spaces, including the new “Mynydd (Mountain)” Lounge Bar.
Neil Kedward, owner and CEO of Penmaenuchaf, said: “Joining PoB Hotels is such a meaningful milestone for Penmaenuchaf and the team. Following in the footsteps of the Grove of Narberth, we’ve seen firsthand the value of being part of this community of Great British Hotels. PoB Hotel’s platform and commitment to quality provide the perfect springboard to showcase our refreshed offering and the wonder of Eryri.”
Kalindi Juneja, CEO of PoB Hotels, added: “We are delighted to welcome Matfen Hall, Mallory Court, and Penmaenuchaf into the PoB Hotels family. Each has shown a deep dedication to delivering best-in-class hospitality through investment, innovation, and a respect for their local heritage.
“More than ever, independent hotels are seeking strategic alignment with a brand that elevates their visibility without diluting their individuality. That’s what PoB Hotels offers — a platform built on quality, character, and community.”
