The White Hart Hotel in Lincoln has expanded its accommodation with four luxury en-suite rooms in a converted 16th Century building.

The new rooms occupy the upper floors of Leigh Pemberton House, a Grade II-listed timber-framed building beside the main hotel in the city’s historic centre. Guests can view Steep Hill and nearby landmarks from the refurbished annex.

The building has previously served as a merchant’s house, furniture shop and inn, and is currently also home to the Lincoln Visitor Information Centre on the ground floor.

The additions take the White Hart’s total to 53 bedrooms across the main hotel, Leigh Pemberton House and a Georgian townhouse at 7 Castle Hill. Long, a Lincolnshire native, acquired the hotel in 2022 and has since invested in refurbishing guest rooms, dining areas and the surrounding buildings.

Further developments are planned, including spa treatment rooms and an indoor pool. The White Hart forms part of Long’s Loxley Collection, which also includes hotels in North Yorkshire and Cornwall.

Andrew Long, owner of the White Hart Hotel, said: “We’re delighted that these four new bedrooms in this fascinating historic building are now ready to welcome their first guests as part of our ongoing programme of refurbishment and investment.”
