Apex Hotels has announced that Dunblane Hydro is set to join its portfolio, officially reopening as Apex Dunblane Hydro Hotel on 28 November 2025.

The 200-bedroom Victorian site will become the ninth Apex branded hotel, having been acquired by Apex in November 2024.

The historic property will now undergo a “comprehensive” multi-phase refurbishment programme aimed at restoring the heritage hotel.

The refurbishment will begin with the site’s conference and events spaces this month, and later guest rooms will be upgraded and public spaces modernised.

Set within 10 acres of landscaped grounds, the hotel is well placed in Central Scotland to serve as a key leisure and conference destination, with enhanced meeting and event facilities for up to 500 delegates.

Averil Wilson, managing director of Apex Hotels, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Dunblane Hydro into the Apex Hotels portfolio.  Our brand is built on creating spaces that feel relaxing and welcoming, with thoughtful design and exceptional service at the core.

“We are excited to see the refurbishment breathe new life into this iconic property. Dunblane Hydro is ideally set as a destination rich in history and surrounded by natural beauty, and a further step in our commitment to offering diverse, characterful guest experiences across the UK.”

Apex Hotels is known for its collection of four-star contemporary hotels located in prime city-centre locations across the UK.
