Boutique hotel and restaurant The Bonnie Badger has been sold to hospitality group Buzzworks in a private, off-market transaction.
The purchase price for the venue, located on Main Street in the East Lothian coastal village of Gullane, remains undisclosed. Property firm Graham and Sibbald brokered the deal on behalf of the previous owners, the Kitchin family.
Originally established in 1836 as a traditional village hotel, the property underwent a major refurbishment in 2018. The venue provides 12 letting bedrooms and a suite, which are split across the main hotel building and two separate cottages.
The site features multiple dining and social spaces, including The Stables Dining Room, The Broc Bar, and The Garden Room, alongside a landscaped rear garden.
Senior director of hotel and leisure with Graham and Sibbald Peter Seymour said: “I was delighted to work with the Kitchin Family once more. We brokered the deal in a true off market fashion by identifying the right buyers for this wonderful Hotel.”
Seymour added: “We know Buzzworks are delighted to be custodians of the hotel and we look forward to seeing their plans become reality.”
