Aethos appoints new group director of people and culture

In this episode we speak to brothers Alex and Adrien Grosjean, young entrepreneurs who have recently acquired The Residence Inn by Marriott Manchester Piccadilly. We discussed the reasons why Manchester’s visitor market is booming, and their decision to invest in this area, why they see extended-stay accommodation as a major opportunity in what is one of the UK's fastest-growing cities, how they plan to enhance their portfolio of hotels, and their advice for the next generation of hospitality disruptors.

Aethos has appointed Katherine Godsmark as group director of people and culture as the hospitality business expands its portfolio following the opening of its London Shoreditch site.

Godsmark will oversee the company’s global people strategy as the brand continues its international growth.

She has more than 15 years’ experience in senior people and operations roles across the hospitality, consultancy and professional services sectors.

Before joining Aethos, she was global head of people at the Gap Partnership, overseeing strategy across the UK, Europe, Asia, Australia and the Americas.

Her previous roles include head of people at a consultancy working with FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 clients, HR and talent manager at Reed, and people and operations positions at Kerzner International, TUI and other multinational organisations.

The role comes as Aethos strengthens its leadership team while expanding to new locations.

Lily Wecker, chief executive of Aethos, said: “Katherine’s vision for people and culture aligns seamlessly with where Aethos is heading.

“She brings a powerful blend of strategic insight and heart, and I’m excited to see the impact she’ll have as we continue scaling globally. Her leadership will elevate how our teams grow, connect, and create the memorable experiences that define who we are.”
