Ellenborough Park appoints Gareth Davies as general manager

In this episode we speak to Daniel Kyriakides, a partner at law firm Reed Smith. We discuss why private members’ clubs are experiencing a resurgence and what that means for the future of the hotel sector. From heritage buildings being reimagined as lifestyle destinations to hotels borrowing the experiential playbook of members’ clubs, we discuss how the lines between the two are becoming increasingly blurred, and why global growth is on the horizon for the private members club model.

Ellenborough Park has appointed Gareth Davies as its new general manager, with the role due to take effect on 6 January 2026.

Davies joins the Cotswolds hotel from Rhinefield House, where he led day-to-day operations and oversaw service standards and staff engagement across the business.

He has more than 15 years’ experience in luxury hospitality, having previously held senior management roles at Stanbrook Abbey Hotel and New Hall Hotel and Spa. His background spans hotel operations, food and beverage and guest relations.

In his new role, Davies will be responsible for all aspects of Ellenborough Park’s operations, including accommodation, dining and spa facilities. His appointment comes ahead of the hotel’s 15th anniversary, which will be marked in 2026.

Davies said: “I am honoured to join the team at Ellenborough Park and look forward to working with colleagues who have built such a strong reputation for service and hospitality. With the hotel celebrating its 15th anniversary next year, it is an opportunity to recognise its heritage while helping to shape the next chapter.”

Ellenborough Park is a country house hotel in the Cotswolds and a member of PoB Hotels, a collection of independent British luxury properties.
