SimpsInns to open new spa at Waterside Hotel after £3m investment

SimpsInns has announced that a new spa at The Waterside Hotel in West Kilbride is due to open on 17 February, following a £3m redevelopment project. 

The development, branded Si! Spa at The Waterside, forms part of a wider expansion of the coastal hotel, which has added 17 sea-view bedrooms in recent months, taking its total room count to 40.

The spa will include six treatment rooms, a four-person Rasul experience, sauna and steam room, experience showers, and indoor relaxation areas. Outdoor facilities will include a hydro pool, cold bucket, outdoor shower, and a sheltered seating area with a firepit overlooking the beach.

SimpsInns said bookings are now open ahead of the February launch, with access to the spa facilities available to day guests.

The spa will also offer overnight spa breaks, including treatment packages and dining options at the hotel’s restaurant. 

The Waterside Hotel, located around 40 minutes from Glasgow, sits on the Ayrshire coast with views across the Firth of Clyde towards the Isle of Arran. The spa is the second under the Si! Spa brand, which was launched at The Gailes Hotel and Spa in Irvine in 2021.

Jack Simpson, who is part of the senior management team at SimpsInns, said: “We’re really excited to be announcing the official opening date for Si! Spa at The Waterside and can’t wait to start welcoming our first guests from Tuesday 17 February.

“We are now taking bookings and putting the final touches to the development, which will be one of the most exciting leisure and tourism developments in Scotland for 2026.”

SimpsInns is a family-run business owned by the Simpson family and based in Irvine. The group operates hotels, restaurants, bars, spa, golf and leisure venues along the Ayrshire coast, including The Waterside Hotel, The Gailes Hotel and Spa, and The Loans Inn in Troon.
