Allan Davidson has joined the board of Bricks Capital as managing director of its growing hotel portfolio to help continue to drive growth.
Bricks Capital Hotels has worked with leading international hospitality partners including Hilton, IHG and Marriott, to develop hotels in their portfolio. Bricks Capital said Davidson brings with him experience of hotel operations and hospitality investment, and has “proficient experience” of the international hotel market, having worked on projects in Germany, France, the Netherlands, Croatia and Spain in the recent past.
Current high profile developments for Bricks Capital include a “significant investment” for a 197 keys Hilton Garden Inn at Silverstone Racecourse, which will be open in time for the 2020 British Grand Prix, and a 220 key Courtyard by Marriott scheme at London City Airport.
The group are currently seeking new development sites across Europe to support its planned expansion in the hotel market.
Davidson joins from the Colliers International hospitality asset management team, of which he was co-head. He has also worked with Vision Hospitality asset management and Jarvis Hotels, and was also the hotel operational lead for the St Georges Park National Football Centre for the FA.
Bricks Capital CEO, Peter Prickett, said: “Bricks Capital is developing a lifestyle brand covering property and asset management in the student, residential and hotel sectors. To date we have completed and/or on-site with properties valuing more than £500m. Having successfully developed an award-winning student brand, we now set our sights on aggressive expansion plans within the hotel industry.
“To do this we needed to bring on board someone who embraces our brand and vision, as well as holding the relevant experience and ability to execute our long term growth. We enquired within the industry and Allan’s name quickly was at the top of our list. Having Allan join our group at a senior level is a huge win for the business and we are extremely excited to grow our hotel division together in the years ahead, starting with a target of 20 new hotels within three years from now.”
Allan Davidson added: “I’m delighted to be joining Bricks Capital at such an exciting time for the business. We’ve proven ourselves with some highly successful schemes to date, but to be a part of the rapid growth of the business is a challenge that I’m relishing. In the coming years, we’ll be looking to significantly expand our portfolio, with a target of more than 20 developments, and we are currently on the lookout for further sites to support this growth.”
