Lamington Group, the creators of Room2, the world’s first hometel brand, has appointed Chris Minhinnett as its new managing director.
Having spent 10 years with Esa Serviced Apartments, where he was responsible for a portfolio of over 350 apartments, Minhinnett brings his “extensive” knowledge, expertise and leadership to the Lamington team.
Minhinnett said: “I’m delighted to be joining Lamington and Room2. The Room2 product in particular is quite unique, and brings much needed innovation to the industry. I look forward to guiding the ongoing development of this and the operational teams.
“The move will help to further strengthen the operating business and also enable current managing director, Robert Godwin to focus extensively on the national rollout and development of the Room2 brand.”
Godwin added: “It’s an exciting phase of growth for our Room2 brand and portfolio. I’m pleased to have Chris on board allowing me to step back from the day-to-day business and focus primarily on fundraising and development opportunities from a leasing and acquisition perspective.
“We’re looking forward to a number of exciting announcements later in the year regarding the development of the Room2 brand and with Chris’ experience, I am confident we can fully maximise these opportunities when they come to fruition.”
Room2 opened the world’s first Hometel in Southampton in June last year, building upon their initial concept property in Hammersmith. Hometels combine the services and security of a hotel, with the comfort and flexibility of a home.
