In this episode we speak to brothers Alex and Adrien Grosjean, young entrepreneurs who have recently acquired The Residence Inn by Marriott Manchester Piccadilly. We discussed the reasons why Manchester’s visitor market is booming, and their decision to invest in this area, why they see extended-stay accommodation as a major opportunity in what is one of the UK's fastest-growing cities, how they plan to enhance their portfolio of hotels, and their advice for the next generation of hospitality disruptors.

Radisson has officially launched its first Individuals-branded hotel in western Romania with the opening of Hotel Galaxy Timișoara.

The 48-room lifestyle property is situated on Gheorghe Lazar Street in the city’s Baroque old town. The opening comes as Timișoara experiences increased international visitor interest following its status as a European Capital of Culture 2023.

The hotel includes 45 rooms and three premium apartments designed for extended stays. Facilities feature the Essenza Restaurant and Essenza Brasserie, a lobby bar with an outdoor terrace, meeting spaces, a fitness center, a spa, and a rooftop jacuzzi.

Transport links connect the property to Timișoara International Airport, which is a 20-minute drive away, and the central railway station, located seven minutes from the hotel. Union Square and the National Opera are 10 minutes away by car.

Joep Peeters, chief operating officer of franchise EMEA at Radisson, said: “Timișoara is one of Central Europe’s most captivating cities, rich in heritage, culturally vibrant, and increasingly gaining recognition on the international stage. Hotel Galaxy perfectly reflects what Radisson Individuals was created for, distinctive hotels with their own identity, rooted in destinations with stories worth discovering.

“We are delighted to welcome the hotel to our growing portfolio, marking the brand’s debut in western Romania and introducing the city’s first internationally affiliated lifestyle hotel in the historic old town center.”

Andreea Otescu, general manager at Hotel Galaxy Timișoara, added: “Timișoara has always deserved a hotel that matches its ambition, a place that reflects the city’s creativity, its cultural depth, and its confidence as a destination on the rise.

“Hotel Galaxy Timișoara, a member of Radisson Individuals, is that hotel. We are proud to join the Radisson Individuals family, and delighted to offer our guests a stay that feels genuinely rooted in one of Romania’s most extraordinary cities.”

Radisson Individuals expands footprint

In Context

In May 2021, the Radisson Individuals brand marked its expansion into Scotland with the signing of the River Ness Hotel in Inverness. The hotel was positioned to offer a distinctively Scottish experience while integrating into Radisson’s global platform, mirroring the strategy of flexibility and local character seen in the recent debut in western Romania amid new signings.

Further emphasising the brand’s momentum, the Radisson Individuals portfolio surpassed 100 hotels in September 2025. This growth reflects the appeal of the model that allows independent hotels to join a global network while retaining their uniqueness, aligning well with the current trends of hotel signings and brand flexibility highlighted in western Romania reaching 100-hotel milestone.
