Britannia Hotels has announced the appointment of a new board of directors to manage operations as the company approaches its 50th year of trading.
The new board comprises four internal directors who will oversee investment across the portfolio, including property refurbishments and technology upgrades.
The independent hotel company was founded in 1976 with one property in Manchester and has expanded to 65 hotels across the UK.
The appointed board members are operational director Simon Powell, hospitality director Helen Rees, food and beverage director Prakash Sivarajan, and legal director Paul Streets.
Streets said: “As we approach our 50th anniversary, the new board represents an important moment for the business – one that allows us to respect what has been built over many years, while bringing greater focus, clarity and ambition to how we operate going forward.
“Our priority is to invest in our hotels and our people and deliver consistent and great value experiences for our guests. We are excited about the opportunity ahead and confident in the long-term future of Britannia Hotels.”
